Microsoft Unveils Lumia 535 Sans Nokia Logo
The announcement of Lumia 535 heralds a new naming convention for Microsoft moving forward. They now do away with Nokia branding that Lumias are used to be identify with, as Microsoft logos now graced the present and future devices.

Though the Nokia logo was replaced by Microsoft’s, it is obvious at first glance that Lumia 535 still rocks the same familiar colorful design that former Nokia Lumias are known for, and personally, I think it is a good thing.
The Microsoft Lumia 535 is a bridge between low end and midrange devices as pricing and feature would suggest. The device will be priced around €110 or a ballpark figure of PHP 6,500. This is definitely aimed at emerging market like the Philippines. What makes this attractive for value-for money smartphone buyers is its 5 inch screen and wide angle “selfie” camera with 5-megapixel resolution. This also marks the first time a resolution of 960 x 540 display is seen on a Windows Phone device, which has a 220 ppi pixel density for this handset.
Other notable feature are interchangeable colorful shell for customization and 1.2 GHz Quad core processor guaranteed smooth operation. Gladly they didn’t skimp on memory with an adequate 1GB RAM in tow which makes sure almost all apps in the store can run on this device. If 8 GB internal memory built-in is not enough, there’s SD memory slot that makes sure you’ll never run out of memory for storage.
Microsoft knows where its strength lies and at this price point and specs, this is an attractive choice for emerging market who wants a larger screen device at an entry level price. The phone is slated to be released this month in Asia Pacific Region which hopefully include the Philippines in time for the holiday season.
