Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo is official: Midrange phone with dual camera and face unlock
Samsung just recently unveiled their latest in the J series, the Galaxy J7 Duo for the Indian market. Their latest offering as it name suggest, will showcase its camera prowess by bringing dual camera setup in its affordable midrange lineup. India is the second largest smartphone market in the world and it is crucial for Samsung to deliver a competitive and affordable device as it relinquish its top spot due to aggressive pricing of competing manufacturer.
The Galaxy J7 duo 2018 is going to be priced INR 16,990 or roughly equivalent to US $260 which is going to be a bit steeper from what the likes of Xiaomi which are churning out in that territory. But Samsung is banking on its dual camera appeal as it brings some of its flagship feature to its midrange offering with the J7 Duo. Having cameras that is capable of creating bokeh effect background are all the rage nowadays. With its dual camera, you can manually adjust the background blur level using its Live Focus feature before or even after you take the portrait. You can also create blur effect for the front camera using a software to isolate the main subject and the background. Both main and selfie cameras have f/1.9 aperture to allow more light under low light condition.
Unsurprisingly, the Samsung J7 Duo is fitted with a 5.5 HD display with in-house super AMOLED panel which are known to have good viewing angles, deep blacks and saturated colors. Running the show is an Exynos 7 Series Octa Core Processor while the ample 4GB of RAM takes care of juggling multiple task at once.
With 3,000mAh battery, combined with less power hungry specs, stamina shouldn’t be an issue with the J7 Duo. For biometrics, there is also a front fingerprint scanner and a face unlock feature. It comes with the latest Android 8.0 out of the box and available in black and gold colors. It is available in brick and mortar store in India on April 12, 2018. Meanwhile, the rest of emerging markets has no release date yet but we bet it is going to sooner rather than later.
