Android powered Nokia 6 phone is official: Mid-range device to be launched in China
Finally, after a long hiatus Nokia is back. Technically, the first Android device by Nokia was the Nokia X series which was running a forked version of Google’s operating system. We all know that experiment didn’t go well, along with the demise of once king of mobile phones. Now a Finnish company, HMD Global resurrect the brand after it secured a licencing deal to use Nokia name to its smartphone.
The mid-ranger Nokia 6 is going to be launched initially for the Chinese market. But at the moment, there is no official statement yet about global release. The phone is going to be competitively priced at around $245 USD which is within what the competition has to offer for the same specs.
Nokia 6 is not expected to blow anyone’s socks off but that is already given considering its budget price. The 5.5 inch mid-range phone has a Full HD screen with 2.5D rounded corners and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a Snapdragon 430 chipset which may not be the fastest but proven for its adequate performance. The Nokia 6 houses an Octa-core CPU combined with an Adreno 505 GPU. There is a generous storage space of 64GB while 4GB RAM takes care of multitasking. As for cameras, the 16MP main shooter is equipped with laser autofocus and 8MP for selfies. Another notable features includes a fingerprint scanner and a Quick Charge 3.0 for faster charging. It comes with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. The Nokia 6 is expected to arrive for the Chinese market earlier this year.
