Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is official: Specs, Price
The Galaxy Note line is fully decked-out flagship with every features imaginable that Samsung cram to its most premium offering. Now that the Note 9 is finally unveiled, initial impression seems there’s little distinction between its immediate predecessor at least on the surface. From design standpoint, the upgrade is incremental to which the new color scheme, slightly thinner bezel and the position of the fingerprint sensor is the only giveaway for the latest of the Note series. But delving deep to its specs and features, you will find significant upgrades to move the series forward not necessarily groundbreaking.
The Note series are great productivity device and with the Galaxy Note 9, there are improvements over its predecessor that will make power users happy. This time around, Samsung didn’t hold back when it comes to battery capacity. With 4,000 mAh battery, the Korean giant promises an all day stamina or more but that depends of course on how you use your device.
There are plenty of storage to go around with a huge 128 GB for the base model ($999.99 unlocked). That is more than sufficient for many which also easily expandable via MicroSD slot. But another variant houses a whopping 512 GB internal storage for those willing to pay $1249.99 outright to have that massive digital vault right in your pocket.
The stylus or S Pen is what makes the Note lineup an indispensable productivity companion. Samsung souped-up the S Pen by adding Bluetooth and battery built-in which is like a handy camera shutter button. In addition, the stylus can now act as a remote to control music playback and even to open shortcuts for apps.
The camera has the same module as the excellent dual cameras with variable apertures of the Galaxy S9 that adjust to take in more light. But what is first for a Samsung device is that the camera now comes with AI smarts that recognize shooting subject and automatically tinkers the brightness and colors. This is not exactly a new feature, as Huawei, Asus and LG already uses AI software enhancement for their camera.
The Galaxy Note 9 comes in two color variants— Ocean Blue and Lavender Purple, while for the rest who are not a fan of the color, you may cover it in a case. You can preorder the phones right now and will be available on August 24 in the US. Price begins at $999.99 for the unlocked version.
