Nokia 6.1 Plus: Global version of Nokia X6 is official
There were already reports earlier that the China-exclusive Nokia X6 will also be launched globally albeit with a different naming convention. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is essentially the identical twin of Nokia X6 except the former is an Android One device which guarantees at least two year of software support and three years of security updates by Google itself.
Aside from running pure Android experience, without the bloatware and stale software support, HMD decided to meet the standard of phone these days to keep the Nokia 6.1 Plus ‘up to snuff’. The most prominent feature the design is the presence of polarizing notch up top which most manufacturers are adapting anyway. The more sensible tall aspect ratio gives it more ergonomic to hold 5.8-inch display in spite of its huge size.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus is initially headed to Hong Kong on July 24, priced at around $290 and available in either black or white variant. Meanwhile, it is expected that more international markets are going to get their hands on the appealing mid-range offering by HMD sooner rather than later.
