So Your Galaxy A53’s Google Map is Upside Down: What is the Solution?
Undoubtedly, one of the most essential functions of having a smartphone this day is navigation. We are talking about particularly here is the Google Map app, which comes preinstalled when you buy a Samsung phone, like the Galaxy A53 5G or any Android phone like the Galaxy A23, or Galaxy A33 for that matter.
It is not too uncommon to encounter issues when you buy a new phone, be it on the hardware or software side. When we bought our Samsung A53 5G, we didn’t really have complaints about our device aside from some features we wish it had improved upon. That is until we whip out our phone to navigate around the city we are lost in. It is upside down and sends me into a bit of panic. A wacky workaround however is to also turn our Galaxy A53 upside down to correctly guide us to our destination.
Fixes that we tried to fix the map orientation
The first thing we did was to check if the auto-rotate in the Quick Settings panel locked the display in a certain position. Afterward, we also checked in the Quick Settings if we accidentally turned off the location which may have caused the map to act up. We dig further into Settings, then clicked Location to see if the Use Precise Location was to toggled on.
None of those steps worked to fix the orientation of the map. By default, and since the phone was new at that time, most of those settings are conveniently set to ease of use and not be bothered by an app that is glitching. Until we finally got our fix.

A simple solution that worked for the upside-down map issue
Since many Google Apps come preinstalled with any new Android phone, some of them may also come with a bug and may cause issues. What solved my Google Map issue was simple. Since you cannot totally uninstall the app, you can disable it by long-press the map icon and then select disable. Or you may go to Google Play, search Google Map in the search bar, tap it press Uninstall. From there, you can now Update the app. That should purge the error in the App and you should be able to use Google Maps on your new phone.
So there you have it. Do you also have the same map issue with your Galaxy A53 or even other phones, and what fix works?
