Phones Under 3,000 Pesos 2023
Nokia C2 Second Edition
Price: ₱2,999 (as of January 2023)
Finding a phone with a removable battery these days is like finding a needle in a haystack. All the big players are focused on making their phones as thin and stylish as possible. Which makes the new Nokia C2 2nd edition something special in that regard. And did we mention it has a metal back? It’s like a double whammy of awesomeness! A removable battery and a durable metal body, all in a budget-friendly package. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows though.
Yeah, one of the downsides of the Nokia C2 2nd edition is that the display resolution is a bit lackluster, with only 480 x 960 pixels. It’s not exactly the high-definition display that we’ve come to expect from smartphones these days. So, your videos and pictures might not look as crisp and clear as you want them to.
Another bummer is that the front-facing camera has been downgraded from typical 5MP to 2MP, so your selfies might not be as sharp and pretty as you want them to be. And let’s not forget the battery which has been downgraded from the previous 2,800mAh to 2,400mAh, so you might need to charge it more often. But hey, all things considered, it’s still a pretty solid budget phone option. You can check it at Lazada Online.

It runs on Android 9 Pie which is an outdated version of the operating system that may not receive updates or security patches. Specs
- 4.7 inch, 720p HD, IPS Display
- 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor

- 13MP main camera
- 8MP front camera
- Android 7.0 Nougat
- 4G LTE
- Fingerprint Sensor
- USB OTG
- 1800 mAh Li-ion Removable Battery
As you can see there is nothing fancy about this phone in terms of design. The fact is it debuted way back in mid-2017 at a much higher price tag. Since it has significantly gone down to 3K territory, we decided to include it on the list. Further, it has 2G RAM and 16 GB storage, which is seemingly non-existent in this price range at this point in time. That is not saying much in terms of performance but not as limiting as other phone makers’ offerings in this bracket. The 4.7-inch screen is HD which will result in decent pixel density due to its small size. There is also a fingerprint sensor at the rear to unlock the device. But do take note that the battery is only 1800 mAh and not user replaceable.

The tall aspect ratio game is also trickling down to the affordable segment of the market. A 5-inch display combined with an 18:9 aspect ratio makes for a compact, pocket-friendly phone that has a narrower frame. Having a fingerprint sensor on this modest phone is also another plus. To make up for its low-key specs, a trimmed-down Android Oreo Go Edition will make sure that the user experience won’t be bogged down by its limitations. The Cherry Mobile P3 Lite is now available at local retailers.
