Samsung introduced the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite: Flagships at a more affordable price point
Samsung kicks off 2019 with the announcement of two new near flagship devices at a more affordable price. However, these new phones are just a spin-off of its last year’s high end devices and a prelude of what’s to come for Samsung in the coming months. These are the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy Note 10 Lite which are more streamlined versions of last year’s flagships in order to keep the cost more wallet friendly.
Galaxy S10 Lite
The Galaxy S10 Lite is an off shoot of its more premium siblings and it is quite obvious with the build quality. The 6.7 inch screen has 2400×1080 resolution (394ppi) while gone is the curved edges in favor of flat screen which some may actually like. The rear is made of high quality shiny plastic aka “glasstic” that is common for Samsung’s midrange nowadays.
The distinctive feature of the Galaxy S10 Lite is the camera. Though the black rectangular rear camera module is actually not the first for Samsung since the very recent Galaxy A51 and A71 also adapted the same design. It has a wide angle 48 MP main shooter at the back with Super Steady OIS that is said to take footage stabilization to a new level and is more likely to land in the next Galaxy flagship. There is also a Ultra Wide camera that is quite useful for getting more subject on the viewfinder. Though we would prefer a telephoto lens, Samsung decided to put a macro camera instead.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will probably powered by a very capable Snapdragon 855. There will either be a 6GB or 8 GB RAM variants and adequate 128GB storage or a microSD card slot if a need for more storage arises.
The phone comes with a 4,500 mAh battery which looks promising when it comes to stamina and less power hungry 1080P Super AMOLED display. It will be running Android 10 out of the box and comes with prism color effects such as White, Black, and Blue colors
Galaxy Note 10 Lite
The built-in S Pen is what the Note series are known for. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite also has a 6.7 inch display and a 1080P resolution. What differs here with the S10 Lite is the stylus among others. Just like its more expensive sibling, the standard Note 10, the S-Pen is not just for handwriting but also as a remote camera shutter and also controls video content.

Under the hood, the Note 10 Lite is rumored to be running on Exynos 9810 which is similar to that of the Note 9. There will be 6/8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage which is also expandable.
There are triple cameras on the rear which is composed of a 12 MP main shooter with f/1.7 aperture and a Dual Pixel AF with OIS, 12 MP ultrawide camera and also a 12 MP telephoto lens.
There is also a 4,500 mAh battery for the Note 10 Lite which is bigger than the Note 10 Plus. It comes with Android 10 and all its goodness as its default OS and can be purchased in Aura Glow, Aura Black, and Aura Red colors. There is no exact date of release in the market or pricing as of yet.
