Samsung Galaxy A51 and A71 are official: 2020 mid-rangers with quad cameras and punch hole displays
Samsung’s mid-range offering for 2019- the Galaxy A50 is a runaway success for the company. In fact, it is among the Korean giant’s best selling phone for the year that a follow up seems to be inevitable at this point. In fact, hot on the heels of the Galaxy A50, comes the Galaxy A51 to which the design elements and features are said to be harbinger of what’s to come with Samsung’s flagships.
The Galaxy A51 is the spiritual successor to the well-received Galaxy A50. That said, there are some changes in both aesthetics and internals which is expected by the way. A slightly upgraded chipset (but same is used by an already released A50s) is utilized for the A51 which is an Exynos 611 with 6GB of RAM. Onboard storage is pretty generous as it now comes with a whopping 128GB space and an expandable microSD card slot capable of keeping up to 1TB of data.
The infinity U notch of its predecessor is replaced by a more conservative Infinity-O display which is similar to those of the premium Note 10 series. At the back now houses an L-shaped camera placement which now comes with four cameras, which is composed of 48MP main shooter, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP depth sensor, and 5MP takes care of micro photography.

Galaxy A71
The Galaxy A71 is announced alongside the Galaxy A51 with a slightly bigger screen and got a little bit of oomph in the power department. Just like its smaller brother, it employs a glossy plastic rear instead of glass or metal but still looks like a glass or otherwise known “glasstic” as coined by Samsung itself.
Instead of using its in-house chipset, there is a Snapdragon 730 this time around under the hood. There is also an either 6GB or 8GB variant with a 128GB internal storage to boot. The camera get a major boost as well with 64MP main shooter alongside 12MP wide-angle camera, 5MP depth sensor and lastly, a dedicated macro mode camera with 5MP sensor.
