Samsung Galaxy Fit Update Brings Music Playback Control and Adds More Watch Faces
There is so much to like about the Galaxy Fit. This no frills fitness tracker just gets the job done when it comes to monitoring your heart rate, logging the duration of a chosen activity and measuring its distance. It also does sleep monitoring, notification/alert and nudge you gently to remind you of inactivity. And oh, it also tells time! Unlike your typical smartwatch, it doesn’t have stamina problem as it can go for days without seeing its wireless charger. Even better, it doesn’t cost as much.
It is a good fitness companion overall but from the get go, there is also a lot to improve. The watch faces are very limited and needs some facelift to display more useful information on the screen. Another wishlist for many is the music control which should have been there in the first place.
At this time, the latest update with software version R370XXU0ASK1 should have dropped already to Galaxy Fit devices. You may also check your Galaxy Wearable app, then select About Band, and from there you should be able to see the latest update and download it.
The latest software version finally brings music playback control to the Galaxy Fit you can play or pause the music currently playing on your phone. You can also swipe up to reveal a back and forward button to jump to the next track or go back to the previous song. Unfortunately, you still can’t control volume but hopefully it will be available in the next update.
One of my gripe about the Galaxy Fit the given watch faces only displays limited information such as you have to swipe down from top to check the battery level. But this time around, Samsung added 31 new selection of home screen designs that put together relevant info which can be as minimalist or as crowded with weather, calorie burned, steps, date/day and heart rate crammed into that tiny screen. And oh, new watch faces now comes with battery status. Check out below the complete list of available watch faces for that are included in the R370XXU0ASK1 update.
Also with this latest update, the laggy Do Not Disturb is now more zippier– whereas before the update, it is terribly slow to activate. Overall, the Galaxy Fit is better than ever with the addition of music playback control and a number of new watch faces that absolutely utilize the screen.
