Official Yahoo Mail App for Windows 10 will be Discontinued on May 22
Yahoo is now notifying Windows 10 users of its mail app that it will be pulled from Windows 10 store and is no longer available for download. Users also are notified via email that the app will be disabled on May 22 and will no longer work. Meanwhile, users are advised to abandon the app and just use the web browser instead in order to access the email service.
The official Yahoo Mail app was released in the Windows Store back in 2015 that took advantage of some features of Windows 10. First off, there is real time notification whenever a new mail has arrived. Another feature that is going to be missing in action is the live tile support and the ability to resize it. As for user interface, the app is nearly identical to browser counterpart and many will not exactly be missing out in this area. Though it is deemed a web wrapper, there are notable advantage of having the app such as notification and live tiles as mentioned.
The Yahoo was acquired by acquired by Verizon and will eventually will be joined by AOL under one roof to give birth to a new ‘Oath’ company.
