Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is official: Specs and availability
Last year’s Galaxy Tab S6 is among those few Android tablet that has an exceptional build quality with a flagship-level specs to boot. Unsurprisingly, it also on a pricey side and because of that, some may look for other cheaper alternative, although it is an immensely desirable tablet running Android OS. Now its inexpensive sibling has just been recently announced, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2020 (SM-P615 and SM-P610).
Being the “Lite” version, you can expect it to be some sort of a downgrade as the Korean giant cut corners to keep the price down. The Tab S6 Lite has, in fact a 10.4 inch, LCD display whereas the more premium brethren comes with a vibrant AMOLED screen.
Meanwhile, internal specs are quite decent for what it is, with an in-house Exynos 9611 chipset that will do the heavy lifting. In term of internal storage and RAM, there are two variants available, a 64GB paired with 4GB RAM or 128GB with 4GB RAM.
One thing that is left out is the in-display fingerprint scanner that is present in the more premium Tab S6. Fortunately, the S-Pen that makes the original Tab S6 an appealing tablet is also bundled for the Lite version. The stylus can be useful tool for note taking and also as a outlet for creativity. Moreover, the cheaper tablet has also a sleek build quality with aluminum material for both rear and frame.
There is also an single 8 MP camera at the back is not exactly ideal for immortalizing your precious memories but at least it is there when you need a camera when your much more capable phone is not available. 5 MP front camera will take care of video calls and also for selfie photography as well.
With a huge 7040 mAh battery, you can expect 13 hours of continuous video playback before you hit the power outlet, according to Samsung’s own estimate.
You can get the Galaxy Tab S6 lite in choices of colors such as Oxford Gray, Chiffon Pink, and Angora Blue. Meanwhile, price will start at $350 in the US with a release date that is expected around sometime in Q2 2020.
