Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is official: iPad Pro challenger comes with Snapdragon 855, in-display fingerprint sensor
While Android tablet are not exactly creating a great deal of excitement for most of consumers, Samsung tries to defy the seemingly lack of interest by introducing their most powerful and most refined tablet to date, the Galaxy Tab S6. In the past Samsung doesn’t really endow their tablet with the latest internals but things have changed with Galaxy Tab S6 as it now comes fully equipped with current flagship-level chipset, the Snapdragon 855.
The 10.5-inch tablet has a 1600 x 2650 resolution but the more impressive aspect of the display is the vibrant with deep black AMOLED panel that Samsung utilize for this device. Something that streaming enthusiast will appreciate is the HDR10+ support which actually enhances the display even further for viewing compatible contents on Netflix and other streaming services.
Another evolution of the Samsung’s latest tablet is the multi-function stylus also known as the S Pen. Now you can wirelessly charge the S Pen while it is attached at the slightly indented portion of the rear. One of the useful upgrade of the S Pen is you can now use it as a remote control for multimedia, or a shutter button for camera, and even make gestures in the air.
It won’t be a premium tablet without the build quality to back it up. The bezels are equally slim on all sides and devoid of any buttons and markings on the front. Instead of going full glass back, there is an aluminum construction instead. No sign of fingerprint scanner on either front or back because the biometrics is an in-display type instead.
Tablet photography is not something most buyers first consider when considering a tablet because of ridiculousness of size to be used as a primary camera companion. But the Galaxy Tab S6 houses a decent cameras such as the dual-lens on the rear and a 8-MP camera on the front for selfie and face recognition.
You can also tell that the Galaxy Tab S6 is also a contender as a laptop replacement if your work involves light to moderate productivity use because of the detachable keyboard but you’ll need to shell out additional $179. It comes with a trackpad that also functions like in a laptop such as two finger scrolling and zooming. You can also use the DeX software that gives the OS a near-desktop feel and functionality such as more seamless multitasking.
You can pre-order the Tab S6 in the US starting August 23 and will be ready to be released on September 6. The base model is priced at $649 which comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
