LG X cam Review Round-up
Cam-tastic midrange shooter?
The main selling point of the LG X Cam is its dual main camera on a mid-tier device. LG touted it as the most “advanced camera” among mid-range devices. On that account it should be a capable camera-centric phone as it has inherited some of the camera prowess of its more illustrious sibling. But in reality, based on reviews, how does it fare or is it just trying to piggyback on the popularity of LG G5.
CPU: Mediatek MT6753 Octa-core 1.14 GHz
Internal Storage: 16GB
RAM: 2GB
Main Camera: 13 MP + 5 MP, f/2.0, autofocus, LED flash
Front Camera: 8MP
Battery: 2500 mAh capacity
The specs of the LG X cam is decidedly middle-of-the-road but it is no slouch either. An octa-core 1.14 Mediatek processor running the show paired with a 2GB RAM is still acceptable for daily tasks. Meanwhile, saving your apps and games on a 16GB internal storage may not cut it these days but expandable memory will ease that burden. The 5.2 display is a Full HD of IPS variety which is enough to resolution for pixel peepers out there. The battery is rated at 2500 mAh which can possibly pose a concern for heavy phone users.
With the rear camera as the main highlight, the X cam has two camera sensors. The dual cameras have a resolution of 13MP alongside a 5MP shooters at the back. The set-up enables to cram in more of the subject by toggling between wide angle and normal shot. The same feature can be found on the more expensive LG G5 but not everything that makes it a great camera made its way to its mid-range brother. Actually some of the reviews are not as enthusiastic about the image quality when compared to the powerhouse G5.

At R4,500 the LG X Cam isn’t incredibly cheap, but you’re not buying an incredibly cheap handset. You’re getting a trimmed-down version of the G5’s camera, with the wide-angle lens that we’re quite fond of in the flagship, in a responsive and stylish-looking shell. (Read more at stuff.co.za)
