Under the hood is a 1.8GHz Octa-Core CPU and a Snapdragon 450 which is an entry level chipset. As a device that has the potential to become a productivity companion, the meager 2 GB is a bit disappointing, as it stifle any notion that this phone is going to be a multitasking workhorse.
The main camera is 13MP with PDAF for fast focusing on subjects but the f/2.4 aperture means low-light shots are not going to be its strongest suit. Meanwhile, the 5MP front camera is a wide angle lens and has selfie flash by brightening the display.
Aside from unlocking the phone, the fingerprint sensor found on the rear has multiple functions. You can use it as a camera shutter button instead of just relying on the screen and you can also trigger screen capture. Swipe the fingerprint sensor down and you can access notification which is quite handy for a phone this size.
There is so much you can do with the stylus pen of the LG Stylo 4, not just to jot down notes. Taking a page from Samsung Note, you can write important reminders without having to wake the device by simply pulling out the pen and start writing on the screen. You can also convert a portion of a video into a GIF using the stylus and edit or share them with your friends.
You can already get the Stylo 4 at an a budget-friendly price of $179 — that is if you bought it via US phone provider, MetroPCS. Meanwhile, there is no word yet about a wider release and pricing for other territories.
