Nokia 9 will set foot in the US on March 3 with a $100 discount during the first week
The Nokia 9, still fresh from its official unveiling on Mobile World Congress just a few days back is set to land in the US on March 3. If the phone is top on your list as your next daily driver, better snag it early while there is a $100 price cut for those who will buy it on first week. Later than that, the phone will be priced at $699 which is still considered a sweet spot in pricing for HMD’s flagship device. The Nokia 9 will be available on Amazon, B&H Photo and Best Buy stores.
Among the phone that captured the attention of tech journalist in the recent MWC is the Nokia 9 and its 5 cameras as it stares back at you. Tryptophobia jokes aside the 5 lenses at the rear has some pretty cutting edge feature that has the potential to put Nokia ahead in the camera race. Unlike traditional multiple camera phones, all of the lenses simultaneously take photo when clicked and stitch them together to compose an information-rich images that you can manipulate afterwards. Bokeh effect is said to be more DSLR-like with 1,200 layers of depth and not of the half baked software cropping that separate the subject and background from other phones. Neat stuff eh.
The five lenses are composed of three black and white cameras and paired with two RGB cameras. The monochrome lenses can take in 2.9x more light according to HMD and as a whole, can take 10x light information when compared to other phones. This is something to get excited about if that can actually translate to richer images even under dimly lit environment.
With positive buzz surrounding the cutting edge camera, here is hoping that HMD introduce Nokia 9 to more market sooner rather than later.
