LG V30 is officially unveiled: 6 inch OLED display with biggest camera sensor thus far for a mobile phone
LG V30 is finally introduced and from the look of things, it is clear that the Korean giant is ditching some gimmicky ideas in favor of tried and true features along with some useful upgrades. The V30 is not just another flagship with fancy dual screen and rugged design, well not anymore. If anything, it has now embraced a more polished aesthetics that closely resemble the LG G6 rather than its predecessors with their secondary screen. That said, It is evident that the V30 is a culmination of lessons learned from the past and they are finally giving consumers a big phone that they could actually want.
From the get go, the 6 inch LG V30 tries to impress with its FullVision display that gives it a rather slender aspect ratio which was first introduced with the G6. This time around, there is a P-OLED for the display which means much vibrant colors and more power efficient than LCD screen.
One of the key features of this phone is the rear mounted dual cameras which are quite impressive. Fist off, LG is first to implement a wide aperture of f/1.6 on any mobile phone that allows it to process in more light. The f/1.9 wide-angle camera is implemented with less distortion this time around. Many prefer this dual camera capability rather than telephoto lens because it enables to capture more context of the subject without having to change ideal position.
Its premium exterior also matches what is under the hood in terms of performance. Running the show is a Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Meanwhile, there is adequate enough internal storage of 64GB but it can be easily expanded using a MicroSD of up to 2TB.
If there is something to bemoan about the LG V30, it is giving up the luxury of taking out the battery by simply removing the back cover. In return, there is an IP68 water resistance feature finally makes it debut for the series. Speaking of battery, the 3300 mAh battery is somewhat modest for a phone with big screen and high resolution. But we have to wait and see if the power efficient display will have positive impact on stamina. In addition, the newer version of Nougat allows to switch to Full HD instead of going full throttle with QHD resolution.
The LG V30 release date is on September 21 initially unleashed for South Korea, while the rest of the world is expected to follow suit. At the moment, LG still doesn’t provide information about the exact date for particular market
