LG Q6 is already available in Philippines, competitively priced
The LG Q6 is a midrange offering from Korean company that is targeted to appeal to wider customer base with its competitive pricing. At the time of this writing, the device should have the distinction as the most budget friendly phone you can buy with 18:9 aspect ratio and a Full HD screen. The phone is expected to arrive early August this year but it has already landed much earlier than expected along with a price tag that is just about right to compete in the ever so crowded middle-of-the-road-phone with respectable specs.
The LG Q6 comes in three variants which is exactly identical to each other save for the memory and storage. It has already made its way in the Philippines and available for a price of Php13,990 which is roughly around US$277 — this is for the variant with 3GB RAM/32GB storage combo.
It is obvious that the LG Q6 has taken its design philosophy from the flagship G6. Specs wise, it is a watered down version of the more premium offering as it is only powered by Snapdragon 435 with octa-core CPU. The camera has also some feature trimmed down with only single lens 13MP (update: it is equipped with a much narrower f/2.2 aperture for both cameras) placed in the rear this time around. The selfie is 5MP shooter but still equipped with wide angle lens. Cost cutting takes its toll in biometric feature with the absence of fingerprint scanner, instead is a facial recognition for unlocking the device.
It will be facing stiff competition from the likes of Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro, Oppo F3 and Huawei GR5 which all have 5.5 inch display with premium exterior. Aside from its reasonable price, the Q6 is also has that modern looks in its favor with its aspect ratio that literally stand tall against competition.
Update 7/31/2017: LG officially confirmed that the Q6 is going to be on the hands of consumer this week. It will be available in key markets in Asia and Europe and immediately followed by a US release in the coming weeks.
