ZenFone 3 Go leak reveal another budget midrange phone from Asus
It is obligatory that for every flagship or upper mid-range phones by Asus, there will be a corresponding “more affordable” variant in just a matter of time. An online leak of the latest in the ‘Go’ series shows the budget variant of the ZenFone 3 with quite substantial pre-official info of specs and details. The ZenFone 3 Go carries the DNA of its predecessor in a unibody design language that is all too familiar nowadays.
This newest addition to the growing ZenFone 3 family will inherit the 5 inch, 720p display of last years ZF Go (ZB500KL) model. It is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and paired with 2GB of RAM. If you are going to review the specs of its predecessor, there are similarities under the hood particularly the Snapdragon variant of the series. Tell tale sign that it belongs to the affordable market is its 16GB internal storage but should be easily offset by expand-ability. That said, that doesn’t mean ZenFone 3 Go will not improve upon its predecessor though. First off, the camera is suggested to have a 13MP on the back with larger 1.4um pixels. It also wont help deter the selfie craze with its 5MP front shooter which comes with physical flash situated near the earpiece. In terms of aesthetics, let us say that the unibody rear with top and bottom strips immediately feels familiar at first glance. It is not clear whether this is going to be metal or plastic build quality but wont be surprised if they go for the latter.
It is not that ZenFone 3 Go is the only affordable midrange by Asus at the moment. There are the capable ZenFone 3 Laser and Max variants that proves mid-range specs with near premium build is also possible to be affordable. It seems the ZF 3 Go is positioned to cater to even more lower price segment of the market with enough features to make it desirable.
The ZenFone 3 Go is expected to debut in MWC 2017 and expected to have a price tag of 150 Euros.
