Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is now on top of DXOMARK camera rating
With the positive reception and fanfare toward the new trio of S10s, it is easy to overlook that the Galaxy S10 5G, the more souped-up sibling is also ready to be deployed in the US market. Specs-wise, Samsung make the S10 5G its most premium of current flagship lineup with better internals, larger screen and even better cameras – that is basedon DXOMark’s extensive test.
The Galaxy S10 5G garnered a total score of 112 which the highest achieved by a mobile phone to date. However, it is sharing the throne with the other mobile photography king, the Huawei P30 Pro with the same rating. But when it comes to selfie, the biggest S10 variant is sitting alone on top with 97 score. On that regard, it is how the 5G eke out a win over its nearest competition.
The most notable thing about the video test result is not exactly about the camera hardware itself, which added the TOF camera for bokeh effect on video. The extra camera has no bearing at all in DXOMark rating in video which got a first ever 100 for a mobile phone. In fact, video footage that is seemingly even better than the other Galaxy S10 family, is due to the 4K resolution as a default when you record a video, thus the benefit of clearer footage. In addition, the use of telephoto lens, instead of wide angle one for capturing bokeh effect while on portrait do impact the quality overall for the better. What this imply is the excellent camera of Galaxy S10s could possibly even more improved with just simple update.
